The principle of amplicon based microbial NGS sequencing
The ViennaLab 16S Microbiome NGS Assays provide a complete workflow, from isolated DNA to report generation.
The procedure relies on a two-step PCR-based target enrichment for bacterial classification.
- During the first PCR, regions of interest (e.g. 16S rRNA gene) are amplified.
- The second PCR introduces specific dual-indices for subsequent sample assignment, as well as adaptors for the sequencing on Illumina platforms.
- Species-level classification of bacterial composition with the ViennaLab Microbiome Analysis Webtool.
